Video: Pat Curran’s Devastating Knockout Kick
There are knockouts, and then there are knockouts.
The finale of Bellator‘s “Summer Series” tournament ended with a bang with Pat Curran kicking Marlon Sandro into the middle of next week. The two featherweight tournament finalists clashed on MTV2′s final fight of the season and put on an exciting brawl with a highlight reel finish that will have MMA fans talking.
Sandro took Curran to task in the first round with a full display of his stand up skills that had Curran beat up after the first five minutes. But the reason why we love MMA is because of the unpredictability of the sport. One minute you could be winning and the next, you’re asleep on the canvas. That’s exactly what happened in the second frame.
As Sandro took his foot off the accelerator for a brief moment, Curran cut loose a head kick that separated Sandro from his senses and gave Curran his second tournament victory in another weight class. Witness the devastation.
