Twitter Adds Image Galleries to User Profiles
Twitter is already a formidable player in the ever expanding social media conglomerate. There’s no denying that Twitter has staying power in a rapidly growing, and technologically adroit social landscape, but Twitter doesn’t hold a candle to Facebook in terms of photos shared. Right now Facebook over Flickr, Instragram, or any other site, app, or widget you can think of is the #1 source for sharing images.
Twitter has sat idly by while third parties created apps and integrations to allow you to share images via Twitter, but as of today they’ve added image galleries to user profiles. What this means is your most recently snapped images, be they from yFrog, Instagram, or Twitter’s proprietary photo-uploading tool will appear as part of your profile. Like Facebook before them, Twitter has integrated your most recent photos as part of your user snap shot which you can click on for a full gallery of photos. While Twitter has got a mighty road to hoe in terms of catching up with Facebook, this is a major upgrade to the user experience and a marked symbol that Twitter has entered the photo-sharing milieu.
