Fashionistas are taking to the mermaid trend like fish to water. Katy Perry planked as a mermaid on the set of her latest video and Lady Gaga’s mermaid alter ego Yuyi was born in her latest video for her single “You And I.” But unlike actual mermaids, this fashion trend has officially come ashore.
Mermaid dresses contour to a woman’s body and accentuate her natural curves. The dress then dramatically flairs somewhere below the knees creating a fin-like affect of which Princess Ariel would be very envious. But beware of dangerous curves ahead. Mermaid frocks must be tailored for your bust, waist and hips to perfection, otherwise you’ll look just straight fishy rocking the otherwise flattering silhouette.
