Why Is Twilight‘s Kellan Lutz Debuting A New Clothing Line?
What better way to sell clothes then to pose half-naked with Sports Illustrated supermodel Anne Vyalitsyna (who just so happens to be the girlfriend of The Voice judge Adam Levine)? What’s that you say? Show the actual clothes? No, Kellan Lutz thinks that his way, is way, way better.
The sexy Twilight: Breaking Dawn actor announced his men’s 25-piece ready-to-wear collection with a super-steamy Abbot + Main by Dylan George Fall 2011 print campaign. Partnering up with the founder of premium denim line Dylan George, Danny Guez, Kellan is doing more than just sitting pretty for his first foray into fashion.
“I am a part of every decision,” he told the LA Times. “Nothing gets decided on unless it comes through me. I put in a lot of input now like I did in the beginning. We raided my closet to find out what type of shirts I usually wear and what kind of fabrics I like. Because I didn’t just want to be the face of the campaign, but have it be my brand.”
The line, that just debuted at Nordstrom, may be inspired by the easy, breezy lifestyle of Venice, California, yet with gray hoodies costing as much as $168 and graphic cotton tees hitting $98, the prices are pretty heavy but with good reason according to Kellan.
“The material we use is amazing,” promises the star that plays Robert Pattinson‘s (Edward Cullen) brother, Emmet Cullen, in the popular vampire films. “It’s really soft. It’s not heavy. It becomes cold when the sun sets. We have delicate red stitching on the seams and some of the graphic art we used comes from real photographs I took in Venice. You have to have something warm and functional. “That’s how I used to shop. I didn’t care who the designer was, I would just walk by racks and think, ‘ooh that’s soft’.”
Although the Fall 2011 is for fellas only, the Spring 2012 of Abbot + Main will feature its first women’s line with 60 cashmere and silk pieces.
Check out the sexy commercial below with Kellan and Anne as they roll around in the sheets, strip each other naked and…oh yeah, sell clothes.

I think that kellan lutz’s clothing collection will be successful, but when i first saw the video for Abbot+Main, i thought, “WTF is wrong with this collection!” I looked at the veiw as if i’ve never heard of this clothing collection in my entire life, and i thought that the collection was like a womens lingerie collection, like Victorias Secret. I think that Abbot+Main is the must stupid clothing collection i have ever heard of. And when i saw this video, i thought, “oh, now kellan lutz fits the discription which is ‘man whore.’ The next thing you know, kellan is going to be doing porn.” Thats how bad i thought the video and collection was, and weeks ago when i saw the video, kellan has been known to be as ‘man whore’.
Most high end clothing is about making you feel good. They tap into sexual desire. Lutz is hardly the first marketer out there to use sexuality to sell clothing. Look at mens underwear models for example. http://www.californiabriefs.com/shop-by-brand/calvin-klein/x/calvin-klein-x-elements-earth-print-low-rise-trunk.html. Nobody looks that good, but you see the product, you see the body and you think to yourself…I could look that good…or at least a little better than I do now.
Its personal status. A lot of people buy into it. Lutz is only successful because of what is true about human nature. He can hardly be blamed. He is going to be successful and I wish him the best.
