College Football Quarterback Jordan Jefferson Has 49 Pairs Of Sneakers Confiscated By Police
Quick: Somebody get Jordan Jefferson a pair of sneakers! Preferably, a pair of Jordan XIs in a size 11, mm-kay?
Okay, so we have no idea what size shoe the LSU quarterback wears. Nor do we know if he has a particular passion for Jordan XIs (then again, who doesn’t have a passion for those particular pair of Jordans!?). However, we do know that JJ is a bit of a sneakerhead and that it might actually end up working against him right now.
The story goes something like this. Jefferson was at a bar in Baton Rouge last Friday when a fight broke out. According to an eyewitness, Jefferson allegedly took place in the fight and kicked a person in the face during the course of the fight. And, as a result, the Baton Rouge police department wants to check his sneaker collection to see whether or not they can prove that he took part in the fight—all 49 (yes, 49!) pairs of sneakers that Jefferson had in his possession when police questioned him earlier this week.
“During the execution of the search warrant at the home of Jordan Jefferson, police seized 49 pairs of shoes, including the ones he was wearing at the time,” a police spokesman said on Thursday. “At this time, Baton Rouge Police are not going to release the details as to why the shoes were removed from the home.”
The natural assumption to make here is that they want to check his sneakers out to see if they provide any evidence that could help them in their investigation. If he really did kick someone in the face—and, if he’s so obsessed with his sneaker collection that he hasn’t gotten rid of the pair that he wore to the club—one of his 49 pairs of sneakers could help solve whatever crime took place that night.
However, we do have to ask: What happens if they ruin any of the sneakers? Are the police taking good care of them? And when will Jefferson get them back? Because as any true sneakerhead will tell you, you’re nothing without your sneakers. So we definitely feel your pain right now, JJ. Hopefully those Pro-Keds you’ve got on aren’t hurting your feet—or your pride—too much. And good luck getting your kicks back!
