Meet Mayor Bloomberg’s Alter Ego, “El Bloombito”
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has a Latin alter ego and his name is El Bloombito.
New Yorkers with basic cable were subject to round the clock Hurricane Irene updates over the weekend. Amongst the MTA schedule updates and meteorology reports, our mayor of the last nine years held a press conference which was informative and reassuring until…he chose to break the language barrier and speak Spanish on live television.
It was by far the funniest display of Spanglish I’ve heard in, well, EVER. You would think if you were a billionaire you could afford a translator or maybe even Rosetta Stone, but as we all know Mayor Bloomberg isn’t a fan of tradition.
Bloomberg’s display of all out gringo-ness spawned the birth of his new, friendlier Latin alter ego—”Miguelito Bloomberg” or “El Bloombito” as the Latino community has affectionately nicknamed him.
Bloomberg himself has take notice of his counterpart El Bloombito and today tweeted a video to him of a reporter asking of Miguelito’s origin:
The world may never know who’s behind this parody of our mayor’s atrocious attempt at being bilingual, but we may have a new viable candidate for a mayor for the people and created by the people. Miguelito for Mayor!
Popularity: 1%

Can I get some image credit on El bloombito with the Puerto Rican Flag. Possibly….
Dearest Mayor Bloomberg:
Unlike Most politicians, you are the Greatest! I have admired
you from the Lone Star State for many years, but now I Admire
You even more!
Virtually none of the Texas Hee Haw coalition has ever tried to
speak Spanish in the more than 200 years they’ve been neighbors
with Mexico.
But you Mayor Bloombito had the balls to speak it loud and be
proud to speak another language! That language is spoken by no
fewer than 100 Million people worldwide!
Who are we to laugh and criticize your language errors. In fact,
everytime I watch a so-called “football athlete” being interviewed,
I CRINGE at his Inability to Speak English!
So I say BRAVO MI BLOOMBITO!!! Keep taking classes and trying to
perfecionar your Espanol. You Will Overcome!!!!
