We’re big fans of Ron Artest here at DrJays.com Live and when he confirmed last night that he’ll participate in the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars, we couldn’t have been happier for him.

Not only is Artest genuine, hilarious and kindhearted, he’s also a man of his word. He’s dedicated to raising awareness for mental illness and in addition to that, he’ll be donating his significant earnings from DWTS to cancer research in honor of his daughter, who battled kidney tumors as a small child.

While the man officially titled Metta World Peace had a rough season with the Los Angeles Lakers last go ’round, here’s hoping his fancy footwork on the dancefloor of ABC’s hit show will keep him nimble for whenever he’s called to suit up again.
