Wiz Khalifa Dons Air Jordan IV With Amber Rose At The 2011 MTV VMAs
While Wiz Khalifa may not have strutted home with a VMA on Sunday night, based on the picture above and the arc of his career it’s tough to say he’s losing at anything. Wiz was accompanied by his oft-ogled young lady friend Amber Rose at the 2011 MTV VMAs during which he was nominated for Best New Artist. While his song “Back and Yellow” was one of the most recognizable of the year it may have been too far removed for fans with the attention span of an adolescent rabbit to vote for Wiz. In addition to a saucy young girlfriend, and hit record, Wiz has a professed love for sneakers which secures my vote. He was spotted at the VMAs in a deadstock pair of the Air Jordan IV “Black Cat.” These were released way back in 2006 and were noteworthy for their completely murdered out design and “Black Cat” script on the back tab. From the looks of it, this was the first time Wiz’s hit the street Red Carpet and, as is apropos for Wiz, his “Black Cats” were matched up with plenty of yellow gold. Wiz’s look may have been completely casual, but it was well fitting and personified stoner swag.
