Gary Leroy Johnson should probably look up the definition of “referee” in the dictionary.

The 35-year-old Palm Bay, Florida father agreed to “referee” a fight between his 16-year-old son and another teen in the backyard of his home on Dallam Avenue Northwest. According to the arrest affidavit, Johnson “told both the boys that if they wanted to fight, he would monitor the fight and make sure it was a fair fight.” During the brawl, Johnson’s son decided not to continue and that’s when Daddy dearest jumped in to finish what his boy had started.

Johnson, who weighs 220 pounds and is 6 foot, 5 inches tall, is seen on a video released by the Palm Bay Police Department, walking up to his victim who was being congratulated on his victory. “You want to get knocked the F#ck out by me, boy?” Johnson asked the victim, according to The New York Daily News. “I would like to see that,” the teen quickly replies.

Johnson then began to punch the teen repeatedly, even after he falls to the ground, delivering six punches to his head and kicking him in the face. The brutal beating only ends when his son pulls him away, begging for him to stop. Now Johnson, ironically an emergency room technician, has been charged with aggravated battery, child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and filing a false report.  According to the arrest affidavit, before the video surfaced, Johnson told police that the teen threw the first punch, that he punched the teen in retaliation and that he stopped hitting the teenager after he fell to the ground. Clearly all lies.

The “Fight Club” Dad has since been released on $35,000 bond and has allegedly been suspended from his job. The mother of the boy has publicly stated that her son has yet to recover.

Watch the gruesome video footage below but be warned, the images you are about to watch are graphic.
