Nicki Minaj & Taylor Swift Create A Moment For Life With “Super Bass” Duet!
Don’t say the girl doesn’t know how to hustle hard. Minutes after Nicki Minaj walked the black carpet at the 2011 MTV VMAs wearing half of Toys-R-Us and accepted her Moonman for Best Hip-Hop Video, the rap diva headed directly to the Staples Center in Los Angeles to help country diva Taylor Swift pump up the volume for a very special duet.
Back in February, Taylor stopped by radio station 107.5 The River (now dubbed “The Taylor”) in Nashville and rapped a part of “Super Bass,” on air garnering the nickname “T-Swizzle.” The video later went viral and helped add to the popularity of “Super Bass” worldwide. Later that month Taylor tweeted, “Driving back from rehearsals listening to Super Bass by @nickiminaj OVER and OVER. I’m so obsessed with this song!” So it was no surprise that if Nicki was in the house, “Super Bass” would be the song of choice.
Taylor who has brought up many guest performers during her Speak Now sold-out tour, including Justin Bieber, Jason Mraz and Ryan Follese, looked super cute performing next to Nicki, who like her, is a young lady at the top of her game. Both ladies looked equally happy to be in the other’s presence.
“Taylor started this ‘Super Bass’ frenzy, and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart,” Nicki said after the two entertained with their energetic performance. “I love you dearly.” Taylor later tweeted, “The combination of the INSANE crowd tonight and @NICKIMINAJ joining me onstage for “Superbass” = #IwishthatIcouldhavethismoment4life.”
