Groupon To Offer Discount On University Tuition
By now you’re probably aware of the socially powered collective buying site Groupon which offers deeply discounted deals based on user participation. Groupon has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 2008 and while some question the business model, it’s hard to argue with a bona-fide list of 35 million users. Groupon and National Louis University in Chicago are teaming up for a first-to-market opportunity which is serving its purpose through garnering industry buzz. For the first time ever an accredited university will be offering discounted tuition and the deal is pretty staggering at $950. Before you load up your iPod with Kanye West, prepare your palate for deep dish pizza and book your ticket to the city of wind, know first that this is only for a graduate level teaching course, and an undergrad degree is a pre-requisite. Never the less, the concept is novel and the price-tag will set you back a paltry sum of $950 as compared to $2,232 which is the normal fee. The deal will go live this Tuesday, so if you’re planning on sculpting young minds as a career it may not be a bad look. The deal will “tip” or go into effect once 15 people have signed up.
