Video: 100 Years Of Fashion & Dance In 100 Seconds!
What could you do in 100 seconds? Besides tweet, text, or accidentally drunk dial an ex? Probably not much. But for one shopping center in Britain, less than two minutes proved to be all the time in the world.
To hype up the official opening event of East London’s Westfield Stratford City shopping mecca The Viral Factory produced a genius short film which chronicles a gal and gent waltzing, jiving and raving, while channeling the styles of the times from 1911 to 2011. The dancers bust a move through hundreds of costume changes including sleek suits, go-go boots, flapper fringe dresses, surfer-wear, Victorian gowns, disco chic jumpers, flower power floral skirts and hippie bell bottoms, providing a history lesson on ten decades of East London style.
The video, directed by Jake Lun with music arranged by Oscar-nominated Tristin Norwell, took four days to shoot and shows the close connection between dance, music and fashion.
Known as “the largest urban shopping center in Europe,” Westfield Stratford City opens on September 13th with an exclusive performance by X-Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger. Check out the viral fashion video below. What decade of style is your favorite?
