50 Cent Launches Energy Shot, All Things Fall Apart Gets Picked Up By Image Entertainment
From music to movies and book publishing, 50 Cent has his hand in many activities. Never one to rest on his laurels, 50′s latest business endeavor is an energy shot called Street Kings, and the hip-hop star has a surprising reason why he hasn’t followed in the footsteps of some of his fellow rappers by putting out an alcohol brand. He told Page Six:
“Alcohol would be the easy way to go. I chose not to because I don’t drink. I don’t want to promote something I don’t use.”
50 revealed he played an integral part in perfecting Street Kings, telling Page Six:
“I tasted the formula a million times before we got it right.”
Reportedly, a portion of the sales of Street King will go towards fighting world hunger.
In related news, 50 stopped by the 15th annual Urbanworld Film Festival on Friday night for the screening of his latest film, All Things Fall Apart, costarring Mario Van Peebles (who also directs) and Lynn Whitfield. In the movie, the Queens native plays a standout college football player whose NFL hopes are crushed when he is diagnosed with a tumor only inches from his heart. Image Entertainment has picked up the U.S. rights to the movie, which is slated for an early 2012 release. Say what you will about 50, but the man is my business inspiration.
