Winner’s Circle: 5 NFL Teams That Need To Get A Win On Sunday

Maybe we’re overreacting a little bit here. It’s Week 2 of the 2011-12 NFL season, after all, and even if any of the five teams listed here lose this week, they could still conceivably make the NFL Playoffs and win the Super Bowl. It wouldn’t be the first time an NFL team started 0-2 and then turned things around. However, if any of these five teams do lose this week, they’re going to bury themselves in a hole that might too deep for them to climb out of this season.
For that reason, we feel that these five teams need to get a win today. It may only be the second week of the season, but if these teams have any chance of salvaging their season, they need to get a W and give their fan bases hope for the immediate future. Otherwise, they may be in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes a whole lot earlier than anyone expected. Get it together, guys, and find a way to win today.
Their Opponent: Detroit Lions
Why They Need To Win: The Chiefs got embarrassed—at home!—last week against the Buffalo Bills. Things got so bad, in fact, that Chiefs fans were bolting for the exits in the third quarter. They need to stop the bleeding immediately by getting a win over the much-improved Lions. If they don’t, they could have trouble making the playoffs again like they did last season.
