Man Fined $14,000 For Not Having Sex With His Wife

A judge in Nice, France fined a 51-year-old man 8,500 pounds for not having sex with wife. The man, only being identified as Jean-Louis B, divorced his 47-year-old wife two years ago after she claimed that his lack of skills between the sheets was the sole cause of the breakdown of their marriage. Forget marital bliss—this is what we call a major marital diss.
Shockingly the judge agreed with the wife and went one step further, ordering Jean-Louis B to pay his wife damages for “lack of sex over 21 years of marriage” according to The Telegraph citing the ruling under French civil code article 15 which states that couples that are married must solemnly swear to love, honor, obey and agree to a “shared communal life.” “A sexual relationship between husband and wife is the expression of affection they have for each other, and in this case it was absent,” the judge stated. “By getting married, couples agree to sharing their life and this clearly implies they will have sex with each other.”
In his defense, Jean-Louis B admitted that “tiredness and health problems” were the culprit of his lack of desire. Although marital rape is not legal in France, it seems punishable under law to stop having sex with your significant other. Maybe the saying should be “till sex do us part,” since a lack of intercourse can now be legally cited as the death of any marriage.
