Kick Pick Of The Week: Air Jordan III “Black Flip”
There’s no denying the iconic status of the Air Jordan III. Originally released way back in 1988, the kick possessed two firsts which would later become staples for Brand Jordan in the form of a visible air-sole unit in the heel, and elephant print on the heel and toe panels. The shoe was designed by then Nike upstart, now venerated Nike legend Tinker Hatfield and combined aesthetic beauty with technological savvy to create one of the most storied sneakers in history. Today, we see brand new addition to the Jordan III family in the form of the Air Jordan III “Black Flip.” While the legendary silhouette has been maintained, the print blocking has been flipped from the original with the body of the kick receiving the all-over elephant treatment. The hell and toe panels are laced in pebbled leather for a striking overall look. This one receives Kick Pick Of The Week status for taking a bold stab at a classic kick. Be on the lookout for a release soon, and expect the release to come with a requisite amount of chagrin from Jordan Brand purists.
