The New Vans Vault “Snake Pack” Is Definitely Not Approved By PETA

Okay, okay, this Vans Vault “Snake Pack” wasn’t created using real snakeskin. So you won’t have to walk by an angry mob of protesters every time you leave your house in the morning. But that doesn’t mean you won’t get plenty of looks when you slip your feet into a pair of these.

Vans has outfitted their Switchback, Mt. Edition, and Slip-On kicks with faux snakeskin in a variety of different colors for the fall. And you can choose exactly how much faux snakeskin you can handle. The Slip-On features a full snakeskin upper, but both the Switchback and the Mt. Edition feature snakeskin on just the ankle support and the tongue.

We’re not sure exactly when these are scheduled to hit stores yet—look for them to pop up sometime in the fall—but they’ll serve as a classy alternative to that pair of old raggedy Vans you’ve got sitting in your closet now. So do yourself and make the switch to snakeskin now. And make sure you’ve got a speech prepared for the first PETA person who tries to get on your case.
