Leonardo DiCaprio Looks Weird In The First Trailer For J. Edgar
A weird haircut, indistinguishable accent and age makeup worthy of a lizard? This could be an Oscar-worthy role for Leonardo DiCaprio.
DiCaprio stars as the real-life legendary FBI director J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood‘s biopic. The first trailer was released and it raises some major questions and possibilities for the film.
Leo’s mommy issues weigh heavily in the trailer, as he seems attached to mother (Judi Dench) for most of his life. Some tense moments with a male colleague and friend (?) also dominate the short clip, calling in to question the authoritarian lawman’s sexuality.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a Clint Eastwood movie without a tortured examination of right and wrong, and J. Edgar looks like it won’t disappoint.
Hoover’s life seems made for the big screen, even if you only stick with the facts. At an age when many young men today are still living in their basements wondering about a career, Hoover became the first director of the newly formed FBI—a position he would hold for almost forty years, until his death. He revolutionized law enforcement, and severely pushed (or broke) the boundaries of the FBI’s jurisdiction.
If you want to indulge the rumors, he was possibly into cross-dressing gay orgies, and he may have conspired against the most powerfully people in the country, including Martin Luther King, Jr. And he might have been a quarter black.
Good luck with all that, Leo.
