Leona Lewis Leaves The Ballads Behind With “Collide”
Switching it up ’cause everyone wants to dance nowadays, Leona Lewis abandons her signature ballad style for an electro pop look on her new single, “Collide.”
Producer Sandy Vee incorporates a sample from Swedish DJ Avicii‘s “Penguin” to create a fresh-sounding, chart-friendly hit for Leona showcasing her powerhouse voice and introducing us to a lighter, youthful side of her character. The track is a nice prelude to her upcoming third album, Glass Heart, due November 28 in the U.K. with a U.S. release date still pending.
Leona filmed a video this week showing her support for the W.S.P.A.’s “Collars Not Cruelty” campaign, touching on her upcoming album, U.K. talent show X Factor‘s debut in the U.S. (the show she won and was discovered on in 2006) and more:
