Hate Group Westboro Baptist Church Will Picket Jobs’s Funeral; Sends Announcement Via iPhone
What do American soldiers, a beloved 90s pop-rock band, and Steve Jobs have in common? They’ve all been called heroes (well, the Foo Fighters sang about heroes at least)—and they’ve all been/will be protested by a Topeka, Kansas hate group.
The Westboro Baptist Church is at it again, announcing they will protest any public services for Steve Jobs. The group is famous for protesting soldiers’ funerals, saying God is punishing the U.S. for allowing homosexuals to exist. It consists of only about 70 members who are mostly related to the founder.
The WBC sprang on the near universal praise being heaped on Steve Jobs to tell the world that they believe he is in Hell.
This tweet came from Margie Phelps, one of the leaders of the group, and daughter of founder Fred Phelps.
At the bottom, it reads “Twitter for iPhone.”
While many have accused the Phelpses of missing the irony of the situation, they seem unfazed by their use of, and even love of, Apple products.
“Rebels mad cuz I used iPhone to tell you Steve Jobs is in hell.God created iPhone for that purpose,” tweeted Margie later.
Westboro Baptist Church spreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. This is not a church, this is a hate group. This is not about protesting, freedom, or God. They are in it for the money and the press; this is a family law firm. They are not a “church.” It is a scam. They go after anything that can get them in the news. This is a family of lawyers using this “god hates you” thing to make money. It is time for this scam to end.
these people can all rot in hell, I’ve seen this group picket soldiers funerals and now they are picketing the funeral for the best and most moral businessman the world has ever seen. Jobs did nothing to deserve this injustice, he made technology simple for people, you could take an iPhone and give it to a 90 year old and that person with little effort can understand it. I don’t give a damn what their motives are for their actions, i want one of them to justify this to me. where in the bible does it say it is ok to hate another, how can these bastards get away with picketing soldiers funerals. they live in a free land and they protest and dishonor those who help make this land free. I disagree with a lot of things the legal system does, but arresting these idiots for perjury would be ok in my book. i can rest well knowing that someone somewhere has these bastards names on a bullet. they will get whats coming to them sooner or latter. these people even bring their kids to help picket. they are breading racist children who will grow up and commit the same hate crimes.
