Madonna and Lourdes Leon want you.

The mommy-daughter duo are on the hunt to find the ultimate “Material Girl” that will add a ray of light as the spokesperson for their joint clothing collection sold exclusively at Macy’s department stores.  The “Lucky Star” will be the face of the line’s Spring 2012 print, online and billboard campaign, replacing Kelly Osbourne and the hot mess that was Taylor Momsen, and will pocket a sweet $5,000 cash prize.

So what exactly are the ladies looking for? Madge, the 53-year-old “pop diva” and Lola, her “spoiled and disinterested” 15-year-old teenage daughter, poke fun at their personas in a spoof-tastic promotional video as they brainstorm ways to find the perfect spokesmodel. “When I started off and people called me the Material Girl, it was meant to be ironic. You understand that, right?” she asks Lola. “It was not to be taken seriously. I’m not sure people understand irony in this day in age. I can’t live that name down now. People think I’m like a superficial person.”

During their candid conversation in Madge’s dressing room, her mini-me looks increasingly bored as she tries to get her momma to eat some fruit. “Fruit hurts my stomach,” Madge says neurotically. “My corset’s too tight…I don’t eat things I can’t identify.”

Despite getting her hair done during the entire four-minute clip, Madonna finally reaches an epiphany and tells us what a true “Material Girl” is. “It’s not about the hair, it’s about an attitude,’ explains Madonna. “We’re looking for a woman-girl-female-child who embodies a certain je ne sais quoi, a certain spirit, energy, attitude. Cares but doesn’t care. Material but immaterial. Likes to shop but also cares about, um, feelings.”

To find that girl, the ladies will embark on a nationwide casting call. The Lucky Star model search will launch on Wednesday, November 2nd at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City and will make stops in Miami, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles before ending online on November 22th.

Nice to see her sense of humour coming through, showing that she’s not as discoinnected as many make out. Can’t wait for the next album, the word is it’s a killer!
