Rumors abound that Amanda Seyfried (currently seen in theaters alongside Justin Timberlake with In Time) is the front-runner to play the role of legendary porn star, Linda Lovelace.

Seyfried, 26, is set to take on the lead in Lovelace, a drama based on a biography by Eric Danville. According to HuffPo, Peter Sarsgaard is also in talks to play the role of Chuck Traynor, the man who turned the then-Linda Boreman into a porn star, married her and allegedly abused her before she filed for divorce. Lovelace is the star of the 1972 porn flick Deep Throat, one of the highest-grossing independent films of all-time.

Lindsay Lohan was set to play Lovelace in a biopic called Inferno (perhaps a more suitable actress for the role), but jail sentences, ongoing legal drama and bad behavior all ’round have put the freeze on that.

Seyfried and Sarsgaard aren’t the first stars to be attached to this specific film, as back in January, it was reported that Kate Hudson and James Franco would play Lovelace and Traynor, respectively; the film’s directors, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, headed up the Allen Ginsberg biopic in which Franco starred last year. Olivia Wilde was also rumored to be in talks for the role last week, but she denied her involvement.
