Lil Wayne Prepares For A “Booze Free” Tour
Lil Wayne has announced he’ll be “dry” when he tours South Africa and Australia for the first time this month and next month.
The Grammy-winning rapper, who’s reportedly bringing a whopping 50-member entourage with him to the other side of the world, will be alcohol-free the entire time thanks to his three-year probation for drug possession. Weezy’s probation conditions prohibit him from consuming liquor or knowingly associating with people engaged in criminal activities or taking narcotics.
To compensate for the lack of chemical stimulation the 29-year-old’s ensuring his crew travel in style, requiring tour promoters in both countries to provide five top-of-the-range SUVs and a luxury bus.
Best known for his unabashed addiction to codeine, Wayne recently told GQ he couldn’t wait for his probation to be over so that he could drink alcohol again. “I’m good, I’m used to it now. But I was never on heroin, cocaine or ecstasy; I drank syrup and smoked a lotta weed. I wish I could be back on it.”

According to South African paper Times Live, the rapper’s 2008/2009 rider required Wayne being housed in the presidential suites of five-star hotels with Perrier-Jouët champagne, Hennessy XO Cognac and two bottles of Patron Platinum tequila available to him at all times.
Lil Wayne tours Australia first, co-headlining with Eminem, kicking off in Perth on November 25. He then travels to South Africa, kicking off that leg of the tour in Cape Town on December 7.
