New Balance Releases A Pair Of Limited-Edition Made In The USA 574 “New York City Marathon” Sneakers
Do you think that you could ever run in a marathon? Would you be interested in trying to do it? Is it something you’ve always thought about doing? I was watching ESPN late this week and a couple of their morning-time talk show guys, Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, were discussing whether or not they would ever consider doing it in light of the fact that the annual New York City Marathon (which happened today in the Big Apple). I have to admit that I’ve done the same and thought about trying to do it one day. You know, like a bucket list type of thing.
Anyway, just in case you can’t run in a marathon this week—or, just in case, you know, you don’t want to—New Balance has put together a very special pair of their US574 sneaker that pays homage to the NYC Marathon that we think you’ll still like. The kicks, which will only be available at New Balance’s NYC Store for a very limited time, have been designed with the New York City Marathon in mind. The mesh/suede upper part of the sneaker features a black-and-gold color scheme. The iconic New Balance “N” is reflective. And the heel features an embroidery that reads “11-6-11,” which is obviously the date of this year’s marathon.
We wouldn’t necessarily recommend these sneakers if you’re running in the race—slip your feet into something built for marathons that isn’t limited-edition if you’re still in the market for a pair of running shoes—but these will be a very nice addition to your collection if you’re a fan of New Balance. And, hey, they might even inspire you to throw your sneakers into the ring in the 2012 NYC marathon, right?
Eh, maybe. Or maybe these sneaks are all the marathon experience you’ll ever need. Run out and get a pair now.
