Jennifer Lopez To Star As Carmen Sandiego?
Deadline is reporting that Jennifer Lopez is in talks to co-produce an adaptation of the 80s and 90s hit book, video game, and television series, Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? But the real question is, will she star?
News of the movie adaptation sets nerds like me alight, as we spent countless hours at our computers and watching TV, chasing the top spy at the Villians’ International League of Evil (V.I.L.E) across the globe, in order to recover the precious objects and landmarks she’d stolen. It even sounds like a ready-to-go movie plot!
Some think Lopez’s romantic-comedy, American Idol image wouldn’t be right for this iconic femme fatal, and Deadline emphasizes that she is only attached to produce at the moment.
Perhaps the bigger question is: Who will play her “former partner” who must chase her across the globe?
Sadly, the film cannot feature an appearance from the best part of the Carmen Sandiego franchise: the worldly and no-nonsense Chief, played by Lynne Thigpen, who died in 2003.
