Twenty five years since Run-DMC released their hit single “My Adidas,” forever changing hip-hop’s relationship with the consumer market, comes Adidas‘ limited edition Superstar 80s shoe.

Today at the Dr. Jays store in Harlem, New York City, a fit and healthy-looking Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, 47, met with fans to sign autographed sneakers and reminisce on the legacy of his legendary crew (with DJ Mick Boogie on the one’s and two’s). Adidas has made just 1986 pairs of the limited editions kicks, representing the year the classic song was released.

DMC also donated a coat to Fabolous‘ Three Kings Coat Drive, providing new and barely used coats to those in need this winter season (via non-profit New York Cares). Donation drop-off boxes can be found from now till December 1 at all Dr. Jays store locations.
