The Gorillaz Are Getting Their Own Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Capsule Collection
Ten years. That’s how long Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett has been having conversations with Converse about putting together a collection of Gorillaz-inspired Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers. And after a decade of talks, the dream is finally coming true.
This February, the Gorillaz and Converse will team up to release a capsule collection built by combining the Chuck Taylor All-Star and a bunch of Gorillaz-themed visuals. The green camo joints pictured above will be one of the first Gorillaz x Converse sneakers available, but there will also be others set to drop as well. And the campaign will also feature a musical component, too, with the Gorillaz taking part in Converse’s “Three Artists. One Song.” series.
A fresh take on a classic sneaker? Yes, please. Plus, with the Gorillaz involved in this, we’re sure there will certainly be some off-the-wall designs coming out of this partnership. It’s just too bad this didn’t all come together way sooner!
