Cheers To That! NeNe Leakes Talks About The Time She Drunk-Dialed Anderson Cooper (Video)
Miss Moscato aka Nene Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta stopped by the set of Anderson Cooper‘s show recently to offer up a toast to him and, of course, to shamelessly promote her latest venture—a brand of Moscato wine made from the vineyards of Italy. Between sips of bubbly, the reality star dished on her newfound fame.
“I had no idea that being on the Housewives show, that we were going to blow [up] the way that we did,” NeNe said. “If you were with me in a day-to-day situation, I don’t hang out—I’m a real homebody. I don’t like people digging into my personal life.”
Things got even more “personal” for the self-proclaimed wine connoisseur when the CNN anchor recalled the time NeNe called him, clearly inebriated, even though the two had only met once on Bravo‘s late night talk show, Watch What Happens Live.
“So I’m doing a newscast one night,” Anderson says, “and my phone rings and I look down and I don’t recognize the number, and I don’t answer. But during a commercial break, I check it and it’s NeNe Leakes drunk-dialing me from the back of a limo yelling ‘Don’t be tardy to the party.’”
NeNe admitted to hanging out with Watch What Happens host Andy Cohen on the night of the offense. “I was hanging out with my friend over at Bravo, and he said, ‘Let’s call him up,’” NeNe giggled. “And we had been out drinking, but we called you up. But you loved it, didn’t you?”
Yes, NeNe, we love when you make a fool of yourself on national television and criticize your cast mates. “Celebrity hasn’t gone to my head, but what else can you say? My star is rising, hers is falling,” she said of the negative comments made about her by RHOA co-star Sheree Whitfield. “And what do you do? You usually talk about the people that are rising,”
