Chronicle Movie Trailer: What If You And Your Friends Got Superpowers?
Movies about average people trying to become superheroes are hot right now (Super, Defendor, Kick-Ass). So are “found footage” movies that tell a story in fake documentary style, with plenty of shaky hand-held camera shots (Cloverfield, Paranormal Activity franchise, Apollo 18). What if you put the two together?
That could have been the studio pitch for Chronicle, which released its first trailer recently, and is set to debut in February 2012. But more importantly, the film may answer the burning question: what if you and your silly friends got superpowers?
These guys clearly aren’t Peter Parker, struggling to accept “great responsibility” with their “great power.” They’re not even plain vigilantes, convinced that they should clean up crime. They’re just normal teenagers who discover a (crashed spaceship? Ancient Mayan temple?) that gives them powers, which they use to pull pranks and see boobs. Until something goes horribly wrong. Didn’t Mom always warn you that you’d put someone’s eye out playing rough like that?!
With more realistic portrayals of young people thrust into extraordinary circumstances, Chronicle could be a shot in the arm to the whole real-life-superhero genre, which has been heavy on idealistic do-gooders.
What do you think? Will Chronicle revitalize multiple genres, or will it just be more of the same?

The Pro-choice group started a petition telling CBS not to air the Ad. We Pro-Lifers also started our petition showing our support. We are overwhelming more in numbers. Face Book has over 215,000 members in a group called “support Tebow’s super bowl Ad” The Choice groups don’t even have 1000. Thank you America for showing us that we are overwhelmingly PROLIFE and hopefully one day we will overturn Roe vs. Wade.
the question: how do you feel about the Tim Tebow Ad.
@taryn rose shoes
1) this has nothing to do with the article.
2) if you have so many supporters, why are you spamming your bull shit?
3) its great that your “pro life” and all, but how does an ad affect your morals? Or in anyway become in the way of your choices?
4) your an idiot.
5) I am pro choice as well but you don’t see me preaching.
6) please fornicate yourself.
