Evelyn Lozada & Chad Ochocinco Land Their Own VH1 Spin-Off Show
Basketball Wives‘ star Evelyn Lozada is enjoying a career more lucrative than a lot of NBA players these days.
Earlier this year, the VH1 reality star inked a million-dollar book and film deal with Bryan “Baby” Williams and his Cash Money Content publishing company. Her first project will be a novel entitled The Wives Association written by Evelyn’s alter ego Eve Inez-Landon. “By partnering with Baby and Cash Money Content, we have the potential to turn these novels into a full-fledged brand,” Evelyn said about the partnership. “Everything Baby and CMC touches turns to gold, and our brands together will be magical.”
Now, after threatening to leave her hit reality series due to a blog post on VH1 that suggested that she cheated on her fiancee, NFL star Chad Ochocinco, VH1 has offered the Miami mama more money, a lightened shooting schedule to visit her daughter away at college and make it to every one of Chad’s NFL games, and a spin-off show of her own—all in exchange for returning to season four of Basketball Wives.
According to sources, the spin-off will follow the weeks leading up to the couple’s impending nuptials. “They’re still debating on where,” said Diann Valentine, the couple’s wedding planner and star of the WE tv show, I Do Over. “We’ve narrowed it down so it will either be somewhere in Florida or on an island. So I’m exploring both. I’m exploring locations in Florida and I’m looking at some islands that are not too far away because, you know, she loves warm weather, she loves the tropics, she loves the beach.”
If all works out, Evelyn will, by all accounts, be absent from Basketball Wives: Season 5. By then, she should be a football wife. But we get the feeling that if the check is right, that little fact won’t really matter.
