Would You Wear A Pair Of adidas Sneakers That Look Like Moccasins?

There have literally been hundreds of different collaborations between sneaker companies and designers in 2011. But we can pretty much guarantee that you haven’t seen anything like the brand-new LDRS x adidas Forum Moccasin sneakers.

LDRS—a sneaker company based in Chicago—and adidas teamed up recently to create the Forum Moccasin, a sneaker that, as you might expect, has fringed leather strips on the back of the shoe that make it look like a moccasin. They don’t really overdo the theme of the sneaker—in fact, if you wear these with jeans, most people will just think you’ve got a Forum on—but they’ve truly created a sneaker that looks like nothing we’ve ever seen before.

However, is that a good thing? Like, under what circumstance will you need fringes hanging off the back of your sneaker? The other drawback: These are going to be released in red and dark brown colorways on Saturday at LDRS and on line, but they’ll be retailing for $140. That’s a pretty steep price to pay right now just a few days before Christmas and with so many other sneakers dropping this month. We’ll probably pass. But if you’re looking for something that really stands out—or you just love moccasins—then these are definitely the look for you. Because, chances are, you don’t have anything in the closet like them.
