The New Levi Maestro x Vans Vault Sneakers Are Clean and Classy
For a few months now, we’ve been hearing about a collaboration between videographer Levi Maestro, who runs the Maestro Knows blog, and Vans. But we hadn’t actually seen the sneaker. Until now. Revealed through an appearance in a new issue of Sneaker Freaker, Maestro unveils the sneaker that he’s been working on with Vans. And, our reaction? Nice. Real nice. In fact, we’re a little bit surprised at how clean and classy these things look.
The sneakers are actually pretty simple. They feature a grey colorway on the upper part of the sneaker that’s been built using a combination of suede and leather. Then, there’s a chunky all-white sole that keeps the kicks clean. But the bottom is where Maestro and Vans really let loose by making the sole multi-colored. You obviously can’t see that when whoever is wearing them is standing flat-footed. But it provides for an “ah-ha!” moment once they start walking and you can see it.
We’re not exactly sure where you’ll be able to get these yet. But they will be dropping next month. In the meantime, check out this video that Maestro put together with the guys at Sneaker Freaker. You get a much better look at the shoe and Maestro walks us through the process of shooting it for them. He also takes a lot of pride in the fact that these came out looking the way they did. And, we must say: We can’t blame him for doing so! Make sure you stay tuned to find out exactly when and where they’ll drop. These might be the first must-have kicks of 2012.
