Would You Pay $235 For The Nike Air Yeezy 2?

Ah, it’s the question we’ve all been waiting to have answered. No, it’s not “What is the true meaning of Christmas?” We know the answer to that and, frankly, it ain’t all that interesting! Rather, we’ve been wondering for months now when Kanye West‘s new Nike Air Yeezy 2 is going to drop—and how much it will cost when it does. And it seems like we might finally have a (somewhat) reliable answer.

Last week, the @AirMag Twitter account sent out a tweet counting down the days, hours and minutes until March 24, 2012. It hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the thought is that that’s the day that the Air Yeezy 2 will hit stores. And earlier this week, the @AirMag Twitter account also sent out a tweet that read, “#Yeezy2 $235USD.” Does that mean that that’s definitely the price? Eh, not by a long shot. These rumors pop up all the time. But it’s a good guess and could very well end up being the price.

And that brings to mind another question that we need answered: Are you going to buy Kanye West’s second pair of sneakers when they ultimately land in stores? Or, better yet, are you going to be willing to pony up almost $250 to buy them? We actually think that’s a pretty fair price for a pair of Yeezys. It’ll keep a lot of the casual sneaker fans out of the equation and allow those who really want the Yeezys to cop them. But it also leads us to believe that the sneakers will be pretty damn exclusive, which could mean that you won’t have to make a decision at all. There might not be enough Yeezy 2s to go around!

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. But, for now, start putting a little bit of money aside just in case these do drop next spring for $235. Because if the first edition Yeezys are any indication, you’ll need to have your money ready to go when these go on sale.
