Brandon Jacobs Calls Rex Ryan A ‘Disrespectful Bastard’
The battle for New York – that is, the football legacy of the Giants vs. that of the Jets – has been brewing for a long time. Over the past few weeks, it’s been more of a war of words between Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan and Giants running back Brandon Jacobs.
For a while now, Ryan has been heard saying that the Jets are better than the Giants, and that he ‘didn’t come to New York to be anyone’s little brother.’ He made all types of bold assertions about his team and how they’d murk the Giants. Typically, head coaches focus on strategy and let their less disciplined players handle such things because they understand that all that matters is what happens on the field when the talking is done and the playing begins.
The two New York football squads took the field and the unthinkable happened. The Jets lost handily to the Giants, with a final score of 29-14. After the game, more words were exchanged between Ryan and Jacobs, and things seemed to get a little testy.
Jacobs reportedly told Ryan to ‘shut the f*** up’ to which Ryan replied “go f*** yourself.” Indeed, this was a very becoming conversation of two grown men. Of course, it wasn’t over yet because sports personalities take their personal issues to the media as a rule these days. The words exchanged between the two guys led to the following interview.
Sports are better when the rivalries are spirited and fiery, so we like to see the guys get into it. Still, it seems like this is far from over and someone better set up a celebrity boxing match before things get more serious.
