Brandon Jennings Will Open Up His NBA Season In A Pair Of Rudolph-Inspired Under Armour Sneakers
If you caught all of the NBA games yesterday on Christmas Day, you no doubt saw a handful of different Christmas edition signature sneakers. Guys like Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant took the court wearing sneaks that were red and green—or some variation of the two. But it’s Milwaukee Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings who has the best Christmas-inspired kicks of all this year. Unfortunately, he didn’t play yesterday so you didn’t get a chance to see them, but you’ll get to check out his Under Armour Micro G Bloodline holiday sneaks tonight when his Bucks open up their season.
What makes them so special? Well, just take a look. They’re inspired by Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, right down to the reindeer “fur” and the red nose on the front of them. They’re predominantly brown and they also feature a lot of leather components to them. Never before have we seen the Christmas theme taken this seriously by an NBA player.
BJ won’t be the only player on the court wearing holiday sneakers, either. Charlotte Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker is also an Under Armour athlete and since he didn’t get to play on X-Mas, he’ll be rocking a pair of Christmas sneakers, too. We’ve gotta give BJ all the credit in the world here, though. We’re not necessarily advocating you running out and buying a pair of these (they’ll only look good once a year!) but we are advocating you showing BJ some props for taking a chance by creating some truly memorable kicks. Next season, we hope some of his fellow NBA players follow his lead and take the same kind of chances.
Fear the deer, fellas. He’s got you all beat this year.
