The Nike Dunk NG Is Perfect For Sneakerheads Who Like To Hit The Golf Course
Do you like to hit the links regularly? Do you also like to wear sneakers that are actually, you know, cool? If so, then you’ve probably found yourself facing quite the dilemma anytime you’ve ever set foot on a golf course. Golf shoes have come a looooooong way over the course of the last few years. But, at the end of the day, they’re still, well, golf shoes. They’re made to be worn on the golf course, and they’re not exactly going to be the coolest sneakers on the block if you wear them elsewhere. That is, until now.
Nike has finally realized that it’s not just 45-year-old men clogging up the public courses anymore. There are young men (and young women!) who like to hit the links and work on their golf game, too. So they’ve created the Nike Dunk NG, which is basically a Dunk golf sneaker that’s been created with sneakerheads in mind. The Dunk NG is waterproof. It features a full-grain leather upper. And it comes equipped with Scorpion Stinger Spikes for better grip on the golf course and Nike’s Tri-LOK system that provides traction and stability. But it looks exactly like a regular Dunk sneaker. The Dunk NG is only available in two colorways right now—white/black-granite and white/cargo khaki-safety orange—but, if things go well and these catch on, expect more to drop soon.
We’re glad that Nike has finally taken the time to craft a golf sneaker that will actually look cool out on the course. At $130, they’re not particularly cheap. But if you’re spending money on golf sneakers in the first place, don’t you want them to look good so that you don’t feel like a fool wearing them? If you’re a golfer and you give a damn about what you wear on your feet when you play, head over to the Nike Store now and cop a pair of these. They might not help your short game—or your long game—but they’ll let you kick game on the course without feeling ashamed about what you’ve got on your feet. Score!
