Hmmmmmmm…….We’ve been staring at the title of this post for about 10 minutes now and wondering the same exact thing you are. Would we really put our feet into a pair of the new adidas SLVR Fashion Mid Strap sneakers? Or, more specifically, would we have the confidence to slip a pair of these onto our feet before we hit the streets? I mean, they’re, well…they’re interesting, to say the least. But, aren’t you supposed to leave all the belts and straps for your girl and her stilettos? Are these really a good look for guys?

We’re still not sure. But one thing that we are sure about is that these lovely adidas creations will be dropping sometime in 2012—despite their futuristic design and their forward thinking when it comes to footwear. The main feature of the SLVR Fashion Mid Strap sneakers are, as the name implies, the straps. They’ve got a belt that wraps itself all the way around the sneaker and buckles in the back. The design of the sneaker is really unique, too. And it’ll be available in three different colorways—black, white, and a grey/tan combo—to give you options for different looks.

Still, we’re not completely sold on these yet. Maybe it’d help if we could see these up close and personal. But from where we’re sitting, these look like they’d attract attention for all the wrong reasons. The belt is a little bit too much. The design requires a certain look in order to compliment it. And, above all else, we’re just not sure under what circumstance we’d want to rock these. So, for now, we’ll leave ‘em on the shelf. But, who knows? If these are really as “futuristic” as adidas says they are, maybe we’ll all be rocking them one day. That day just doesn’t happen to be today.
