Can you believe that the NBA has already asked fans to start voting for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game? Granted, a bunch of the usual suspects are going to make the team again this year anyway—you know, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, those kinds of guys—but how are we supposed to know who to vote for when most NBA teams have only played six or seven games?! We know there are extenuating circumstances this year because of the lockout, but it seems a little bit absurd to think that the NBA will be holding the All-Star Game in about a month. D’ah well. I guess we shouldn’t really complain. It’s just good to have the NBA back, right?

So, with that in mind, we won’t complain. Instead, we’ll just show you some images of the brand-new Jordan CP3.V “All Star,” the sneaker that Chris Paul will be wearing at the All-Star Game in February—assuming, of course, he makes the team (ha!). We have to say: The sneakers are very, er…red. But we suppose that’s because: A) They’re almost the same color as the Los Angeles Clippers uniforms, and B) They are the same color as the Western Conference All-Star uniforms. So, they work on those two levels.

I have to admit: I’ve never really been one to cop “All Star” sneakers. Players wear them once. They’re made to match the uniforms of their respective teams. And, unlike, say, the Christmas sneakers that a lot of players wear these days, there’s nothing super special about them. But these are a solid version of the CP3.V and I think they’ll work well for CP3—even if they’re not necessarily for me.

So, what do you think? Will you look into snatching up a pair next month for All-Star Weekend—or do you think it’s pointless to buy “All Star” sneakers? You’ll have to make your mind up quickly this year. Because it may only be a handful of games into the NBA season, but it’s already time to start thinking about the All-Star Game.
