Back in 2006, Paris Hilton was Hollywood’s favorite celebutante. With reality shows, fragrances, book deals and even an album on the charts, the heiress perfected the art of being famous…FOR NO REASON! But then along came Kim Kardashian, her bestie at the time, and although Paris had originated the celebrity sex tape leak, she was no match for Kimmie and Ray J‘s “superstar” romp in the sack and what quickly became the highest selling celebrity sex tape of all-time. Kim and the rest of the Kardashian klan soon took centerstage and Paris was left in the dust. Until now…

The 30-year-old is working on new music and following up 2006′s Stars Are Blind with a dance album. “I have a huge passion for house music,” she said recently. “It always has been my passion. I just haven’t been able to focus on it, because I have been doing reality TV for so long now. I’ve been working on the album with lots of other top DJs for awhile now and I think people will be really surprised. It’s very modern and very catchy perfect party music.”

Set for release this summer, Paris is bringing out the big guns for her sophomore LP, collaborating with party rockers LMFAO and Dutch music producer DJ Afrojak . “It’s completely different from my last album,” Paris told MTV News. “I have Afrojak executive producing the entire album. So we have been coming up with the most incredible tracks. I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night. So, I’m going to be doing my new single with LMFAO and I’m so excited, the music is turning out so great. I can’t wait to release it this summer.”

Hear Paris talk more about her new ventures below and then listen to a leaked cut from her new album called “Good Time.” Are you a fan of Paris, the singer?
