Ne-Yo Celebrates Red Tails & Introduces His New Artists
Ne-Yo celebrated the opening of his historic film Red Tails and the new line-up of artists on his Compound Entertainment label with a private dinner in New York City.
Describing himself as being in “a great place right now,” Ne-Yo was passionate when speaking on his role in Red Tails, a movie about the Tuskegee Airmen (the first African-American fighter pilots in the U.S. Air Force) that producer George Lucas spent $73 million of his own money on to make. He was equally as enthusiastic when introducing the three lovely ladies of his label, Compound Entertainment: Latina bombshell Adrienne Bailon, R&B/pop chanteuse Ravaughn Brown and soul-stirring vocalist Loren Allred. The talented trio are rolling out music throughout the year, with Ravaughn’s “Same Ol’ B.S.” out now.

I joined the California Air National Guard in 1972 and later transferred to the U S Air Force Reserve. I had the great honor to meet almost a dozen Tuskegee Airmen during my military life. They impressed me with their pride and sense of duty and honor. What really got me was that they never spoke of the experiences of discrimination and were so very magnanimous in their remembrances. They focused on their sense of honor to serve. I would ask them if they were angry about their mistreatment. No, they wouldn’t go there. I was incensed for them. Amazing gentlemen! I would go to war with them any time any place. MSG D Buckhout, 4 deployments, retired 2011
