Although Common and Drake have been feuding of late, they have one thing in common: a healthy respect for President Barack Obama. Of course, the Toronto-born rapper/singer made a foray into acting on Nickelodeon’s Degrassi: The Next Generation before ever becoming a household name in the music biz. However, Mr. Do Right and Kill Everything has his sights on a new acting gig. He says he wants to play President Obama in the biopic that will surely come within the next several years.

“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him. That’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

I wonder if he’ll do that hand wave he does on stage while he’s saying the President’s speeches. Also, the Prez likes to hoop and we all know Drizzy has a bum knee.

Furthermore, Will Smith has said for years that he wants to play Obama, and Obama has jokingly noted that Smith ‘has the ears for it.’

Of course, Smith also has the pull in Hollywood as well as the box office and is a more seasoned and much more successful actor.

Does he also have the advantage when it comes to resemblance? Who’s your pick to play President Obama in a biopic, Will Smith or Drake?
