We can already hear the New York Knicks fans screaming now: “Go back! We don’t want you! Don’t quit your day job!” But, we’re sad to say that the news is true: Amar’e Stoudemire is no longer working at Foot Locker.

For those of you out there who are confused, Stoudemire did a series of Foot Locker commercials during the NBA lockout that featured him picking up some side work to supplement his NBA salary that wasn’t being paid at the time. That’s right, the Knicks center was working a regular 9-to-5 selling sneakers at Foot Locker and trying to make ends meet. Er, or at least, that was the idea.

Can I just say, though, that these videos might have been better served as commercials? Or, at the very least, shorter videos? As you can clearly see in this clip, Stoudemire isn’t an actor and, frankly, he never really hit his stride as far as acting his way through these clips. And the actors that they put him with didn’t exactly steal the show, either, which resulted in a series of clips that weren’t all that entertaining. On paper, this probably sounded like a great idea for Foot Locker and Nike. But, in execution? Well, let’s just say that it left a lot to be desired.

For now, though, we can all celebrate the end of Stoudemire’s tenure at Foot Locker by watching this video that features him working his final day. All of us except for the Knicks fans out there, that is. They’re probably not too happy to see that their struggling center is coming back to work. Or, maybe they’re glad that he’s dropping his side hustle and getting back to focusing on basketball. Whatever the case, Stoudemire has officially clocked out from his Foot Locker gig. And not a moment too soon. Peep the video below:
