Would You Wear These adidas Y-3 Black Savage Sneakers?

Yikes. That’s the first and only word that comes to mind when you look at these adidas Y-3 Black Savage sneakers. There is certainly a lot going on here. And while we can’t say that we’re particularly surprised—the Y-3 division of adidas has always been known to step waaaaaaay outside of the box when it comes to sneakers—these are particularly crazy, even by their standards. Like, WTF is going on here?

Well, like we said, a lot. So, let’s go through a few of the key characteristics of the Black Savage sneaker. For starters, the mid-cut sneaker has a thick elastic lacing system that is, well, unique. We’ve never really seen a pair of sneaks that lace up quite like that. Overtop of those laces is a heavy black leather drape that conceals the lacing system. On the sole of the sneaker, there are a variety of different colors and, of course, those jagged designs that make these look like they could tear up the carpet in your living room. And on the back, there’s some large Y-3 branding so that people know exactly what you’ve got on your feet when you step out in them.

However, we have to ask: Would you wear these? If so, you’d better have a lot of confidence in your decision, because these will get you plenty of looks and tons of questions from people. Like most Y-3 sneakers, these aren’t designed to be used on, say, the basketball court. They’re designed to be stylish. But, I don’t know. I don’t think I could pull them off. But that’s not to say that Y-3 isn’t onto something here. If you’re interested, there are some online retailers that have them in stock. But, just a word of warning: At approximately $470, they ain’t cheap. So if you’re gonna get a pair, you’d better be damn sure that you’re in love with them. So, are you?
