This seems like a new twist on the end-of-the-world movie. Picking up where Armageddon would have left off if Bruce Willis hadn’t detonated that bomb, Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World follows Steve Carell and Keira Knightley as they attempt to reunite with the ones they love before the End of Days.

Internet chatter seems pretty set on two things: 1) Carell and Knightley will fall in love by the time the credits roll; and 2) the world will probably not end. I’d say both are pretty likely, but not definite. First, Carell would have to sacrifice some of his wholesome Dad image to end up with the pixie-ish woman who is almost literally half his age. Second, this wouldn’t be the first movie to end with the end of the world, or at least to leave it open to interpretation.

In any event, we can look forward to awesome cameos from TJ Miller, Gillian Jacobs, Connie Britton, Rob Hubel, and Patton Oswalt (who himself has some pretty awesome material on the collapse of society).
