Rachel Zoe Channels Mick Jagger For Her Fall 2012 Collection
“If you took Mick Jagger in the ’60s and made him a woman, these things are what he’d be wearing — with a bit of Marianne Faithfull, Bianca Jagger and Jane Birkin thrown into the mix,” Rachel Zoe says of the inspirations behind her Fall 2012 collection.
The reality star debuted her third collection, dominated by sequins, pleats, suede, and fur away from the tents at Bryant Park. Instead, Rachel opted to keep the guest list relatively small and go with a more intimate runway show at the Empire Hotel in New York City. Guests like Olivia Palermo, Linda Fargo and Derek Blasberg, and Project Runway’s Nina Garcia and Joanna Coles cooed over her brocade blazers, pencil skirts, flowy dresses, and effortless slouchy sweaters.
“I’m always trying to do more, do better and broaden my reach,” the stylist-turned-designer told Fashionista backstage at her show. “It was a moving presentation. I just wanted to do something that brought the clothes to life.”
