Jeremy Lin made a name for himself in the NBA as a guy who went from riding the bench to a guy who’s suddenly become one of the most exciting players in the league. So it should come as no surprise to hear that he’s also gone from sleeping on his brother’s couch to buying an apartment in Manhattan. According to the Wall Street Journal, Lin recently purchased a two-bedroom rental at the W New York Downtown Hotel for somewhere in the neighborhood of $13,000 a month.

So, what do you get from a five-figure apartment in Manhattan? Well, for starters, a bed! Or, in this case, two beds. Which means Lin won’t have to sleep on the couch anymore. He’ll also get a great view of the Statue of Liberty, almost 1200 square feet to spread out in, and an apartment that sold for $2.3 million before an investor decided to rent it out. It comes fully furnished and sounds like quite the little bachelor pad. Not bad. Not bad at all for a guy who, until recently, didn’t even know if he’d have a guaranteed contract from the New York Knicks.

And so, the incredible story of Jeremy Lin continues. Also worth noting here? Lin apparently tried to eat at a restaurant that’s on the ground floor of the W shortly after signing a contract to rent the apartment earlier this week. But he got absolutely mobbed by fans and had to be escorted out of the building. Welcome to the neighborhood, man! We can only imagine that your neighbors will both love and hate you within a few weeks. Thanks to Linsanity, this is your life now. Crazy. But, hey: It sure beats sleeping on the couch, right?
