Nicki Minaj Goes Smurfette Blue for Vogue
It’s not easy being green. But Nicki Minaj proves that being blue can be easy on the eyes.
The Barbie traded in her signature pink garb to channel her inner Avatar for the latest issue of Vogue (the same one with Adele on the cover). In a brief interview with the fashion bible, the Pink Friday rapper opened up about the moment that ignited her passion for fashion.
“I was dressing in Tommy Hilfiger baggy shirts and Boss jeans, but then I met a person who dressed like a tiny lady—pantsuits, heels, lots of makeup,” she recalled. “I thought she was larger than life. She once did my makeup—I had never seen myself made up before. I didn’t want to wash it off; I felt like I had one day to live this fantasy of being a glamour girl.”
With her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, already garnering rave reviews, Nicki revealed that if she was not rapping, she might just be a staple in People’s Court. “A huge part of me wanted to be a lawyer!” says Nicki. “I would do a really good job as a prosecutor.”
You be the judge. Do you object—or do you think Nicki would rock as a legal eagle?
