It’s no surprise that Adele has been burned by love. The 23-year-old superstar has made a career out of writing and singing songs rising from the ashes of her failed relationships. But, it turns out the British beauty may have received her first broken heart from the most unlikeliest man of them all: her father.

For her March cover story in Vogue magazine, the six-time Grammy Award-winner opened about her troubled relationship with her father, Mark Evans. Last year, Evans blabbed to The Sun for a hefty paycheck about his famous daughter, his problems with alcohol, and his split from Adele’s mother. “I was actually ready to start trying to have a relationship with him,” she said. “He’s fucking blown it. He will never hear from me again. Because there is nothing that would upset me more than my dad being bribed by the press. It’s like, ‘Just let them run it, then. Don’t you give them ammunition’.”

In The Sun article, Evans admitted to being a rotten father to his daughter and clearly Adele agrees. “It makes me angry!” she said. “To come back after 10 years and be like, ‘Maybe her problem with men comes down to me.’ It’s like, ‘F–k off! How dare you comment on my life?’ It makes my blood boil. There’s consequences other than just getting a bit of f—— money that lasts you half a year. It blows my mind. ‘I love her so much.’ [Evans said to The Sun] Really? Why are you telling me that through a newspaper? If I ever see him, I will spit in his face.”
