New Video: Diggy Simmons Digs Deep On “88,” Featuring Jadakiss
Diggy Simmons just dropped the video for “88,” the latest single off his debut solo album, Unexpected Arrival. And the rookie rapper definitely knows how to pay homage to the veterans that paved the way for him.
While dropping rhymes in a church, Daniel gives props to everyone from Notorious B.I.G. and Chris Tucker to Jay-Z and Bobby Brown. Featuring Jadakiss with a beat produced by Da Internz (the same team behind Rihanna‘s “Birthday Cake”), “88″ is named after a pinnacle year in hip-hop and the video even features a cameo from Diggy’s uncle Russell Simmons.
So, what does the 16-year-old hope to accomplish with Unexpected Arrival, which is due out in stores March 20th? “It’s me taking everything that I’ve done to the next level,” Diggy told Billboard recently. “Lyrically, everything with the production, all the content, all my experiences—it’s just way better than everything I’ve ever done.”
Take a trip with the young jetsetter and watch his latest video below. Do you think Diggy’s career is poised to take flight or do you think he’ll crash and burn?
