The Academy Awards are always the grand finale to Hollywood’s award season and this year’s show was filled with gorgeous looks, emotional wins and an off-balance hosting gig by Billy Crystal that left many wondering how original choice Eddie Murphy would have done.

The Help‘s Octavia Spencer received a standing ovation for her Best Supporting Actress win while Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt looked breathtaking in the front row (pal George Clooney and partner Stacey Keibler gave the “hottest couple” a run for their money in his Armani suit and her Marchesa gown). We weren’t feeling Melissa McCarthy‘s (Bridesmaids) gown nor Tina Fey‘s way-too-basic make-up and hair, but Jennifer Lopez looked like perfection in her Zuhair Murad dress as did Gwyneth Paltrow in her all-white ensemble and Viola Davis in emerald green tones (and her infectious smile).
